14 U.S. soldiers receive medals for their bravery. The surprise? Oh, it’s the German Gold Cross: The highest German medal for bravery that can be awarded. The medal is for “outstanding deeds at the risk of one’s own life.” Outstanding is an understatement. Awesome work, gentlemen!
